Max Alumax / Aluphenol
Max Alumax and Max Aluphenol are high-pressure composite materials based on duroplastic high-pressure laminates (HPL) acc. to EN 438 and have the same surface finish characteristics.
Using aluminium strips inside the core of the panel considerably increases the panel's stability, tensile strength and resistance to impact even though the panel is thin and lightweight, while greatly reducing the risk of splitting.
These panels can be machined and perforated, similar to standard HPL, without any problems, provided that you have the appropriate equipment. They are steam-tight, have good heat conductivity and undergo only very slight dimensional changes in case of fluctuations in climate.
Max Alumax 1.4 mm thick panels are used, glued on both sides of doors, for applicationons with high demands on staying power. Max Alumax panels provide reinforcement due to the aluminium layer which is steam-tight, stabilising the door panel and therefore preventing deformation caused by varying climatic conditions. Can be used for external doors, front doors, doors for wet rooms, etc.
Aluphenol 42 is ground on both sides, approximately 1.2 mm thick and meant for applications without decorative demands. The panel is used for doors in the same way as Max Alumax 42 which can be veneered, varnished or covered by a foil. Max Aluphenol 42 is suitable for use between wooden materials such as fibre board and plywood. The advantage – apart from excellent dimensional stability – is that they can be glued together with standard PVAc wood adhesive easily.
